In Jesus’ day, thirty pieces of silver was not a lot of money. It was the exact price paid to the master of a slave if and when his slave was gored by an ox (Exodus 21:32). The slave’s death was compensated by the thirty pieces of silver. But that is what Judas received for betraying Jesus, which led to His arrest and crucifixion, only the cost paid for the accidental death of a slave.
I cannot fully celebrate Jesus’ resurrection without first considering His betrayal and death. Since Judas received so little for his act of treason, should we not be willing to give a little more this Easter Season so others will have the chance to hear of Jesus? Consider giving $30 or more to help spread the Gospel!!!
Whatever the Lord lays on your heart to give, may Easter weekend be more special this year.
