Partners in Missions

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously donated to Partners in Missions in 2025! Your support means the world to us, and we truly appreciate every one of you!

Have you made your New Year’s Resolutions?

Studies show that nearly 50% of Americans make New Year’s resolutions. Some of the most common resolutions include eating healthier, exercising regularly, losing weight, getting more sleep, and becoming more organized. Typically, these resolutions primarily benefit the individual making them. What if we shifted our focus so our resolutions could impact others? Chuck Lawless, Dean of Doctoral Studies at Southeastern Seminary in NC, said, “The new year is not only an opportunity for a new start; it’s another opportunity of grace to be part of reaching the nations.”

The second Friday in January has become known as National Quitters Day, as more than 50% of people abandon their New Year’s resolutions by that time. Perhaps if we set resolutions that focus less on ourselves, we would be more motivated to stick with them. Instead of traditional resolutions, consider trying one or more of the following: volunteering, donating to charity, showing kindness to others, and practicing gratitude. Set a meaningful goal and see how God can use you to make a positive impact throughout the year!

Note from Karvin

We had no idea of the doors the Lord would open when we started Partners in Missions on January 1, 1997. My objective was to return to Ecuador to start construction on the Santa Clara Church building, which Sandy and I helped plant while serving there. We returned to Ecuador in September 1997 to start construction and continued to visit until the two-story building was completed.

But the Lord began to open other doors of ministry among the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. Over the next nine years, we worked in New Mexico, Alaska, Panama, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and lasting in Guatemala. We are exploring the possibility of starting an indigenous project in another Central American country.

Our ministry has grown beyond just constructing church buildings. We now also focus on training church leaders, assisting orphans and widows, and providing educational opportunities for underprivileged children. With the support of churches and families, we have raised over $2.7 million to fund missions around the world.

From the bottom of our hearts, “thank you” for helping us make disciples of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. We could not continue this ministry without you. Praying you will partner with us again in 2026.

Blessings and Happy New Year, Karvin
