Heartfelt thanks to CRI for being such a great host and for providing our team with an unforgettable experience. A special thank you to Otto for helping us make all the arrangements and for accompanying us to San Juan. We are also grateful to Mingo for driving us everywhere and navigating the narrow, congested roads – you handled it like a Pro! Lastly, thank you to Willie for teaching the guys how to construct and install the wood stoves. We appreciate all the work you did with us!

Mission Team – February 12th-18th

Thomas Clack, Scott and Rebekah Lamb, Karla Jordan, Karvin Adams, Pastor Kevin & Alesa Sims, and Lou Ann Rector

We had a great trip to Guatemala last month. Our team of 8 held babies, made rice packs and food bags, installed 3 stoves, visited our students, and took lots of pictures!

Friday Afternoon

We prepared 320 bags of fortified rice and then went to Walmart to purchase cooking oil, black beans, cornmeal, pasta, eggs, and sugar to make 10 food bags. The food was distributed to our churches in Santa Maria and San Juan so the pastors could share it with the poorest members of their congregations.

Friday Evening

We shared a meal with our students, the Lopez boys, and their aunt, Josie. The boys had a great time playing soccer with Thomas.

Saturday Morning – Traveled to San Juan

It took us nearly five hours to travel to San Juan, with the final part of the trip on a narrow, winding road. This is definitely not my favorite part of the trip!

Sunday Morning – San Juan La Laguna

We attended the children’s service at San Juan and had lunch with three of our students from Santiago, and Carola, our student director.

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.
