Guatemala’s Independence Day was celebrated on September 15th, marking its 205th anniversary this year. Below are images of the festivities and cultural celebrations in honor of this important occasion.
Good News
In last month’s newsletter, we mentioned the financial challenge faced by New Dawning School concerning their teachers’ salaries. We are pleased to announce that they have successfully raised enough funds to ensure that teachers at New Dawning School will receive a monthly salary of approximately $230 for the 2027 school year. This is an increase of $70 compared to the current school year. Their future goal is to raise salaries to $265. Although this increase still leaves teachers significantly underpaid, it is a positive step in the right direction.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.
